We came about in order to have an organisation where we can use our skills to help those who are needing support in ways that traditional services are often not set up to provide.
We have a strong community ethos, understanding that people need other people in order to be well, stay well and thrive in this life.

Why the name?
To us It means a small group of trees together in an otherwise exposed landscape. Together they create refuge, space, habitat and community to those creatures, plants and fungi. Enabling them to grow, rest, restore and launch out into the world. We want to be creating something like this for the people and communities we work with.

Community Cohesion
We see a need within our immediate community to learn to trust and work with one another. We see a role with supporting our surrounding communities in Bradford to do the same; to meet and learn to understand each other. And we’d love to inspire others further afield. We need each other in this life and finding a space where community is healthy and real, can be an actual lifesaver for some. We hope to help bring, build, maintain and nourish community where we can.
Personal Development and mental health
Learning how to function whilst being the people we are, isn’t always an easy ride. Our mental health can be significantly impacted by us trying to be something we’re not. Mental health need has increased in recent years and this doesn’t seem to be slowing down. We see the need and know some things that help our mental health and yours, which we want to share and offer. These include learning or honing skills that you’re interested in, being in nature and many other things. Spirituality is another significant part of us that may sometimes get ignored, we encourage each other to connect with this in relevant and respectful ways.
Healthy Habitats
Creating environments that work for us as people is another passion of ours. Our environment plays another big part in how we feel and our wellbeing. Coppicing is a woodland management technique which uses a beautiful space, where trees are growing. Some of these trees are cut down and trimmed to be able to continue growing more. It’s about using the beautiful space sustainably – sustaining the environment, the person and the beauty. We want to invest in people and their environments to resource them and to help them flourish. At the moment we’re demonstrating this by doing up our local woodland and we hope to do more through things like selling a workshop in a bag.
Get Involved
We are currently doing these things through a Nature crafts and woodland maintenance group, running Greenwood workshops and 1:1 Occupational therapy sessions. We hope to grow in these things and more and will keep you posted as we go.
We’re hoping to run more groups addressing specific needs including ADHD, Autism and for specific community groups – if you’re interested in any of these things please send us an email and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
